Zentrum für Interkulturelle Kompetenz am Sprachenzentrum
is more than another key qualification in preparation of our students’ professional career. Intercultural awareness largely contributes to academic success and smooth administrative processes at the University. Closely aligned with the respective internationalisation strategy of the Executive Board, the ZIKK provides our students with numerous offers in preparation of future requirements in an increasingly global labour market and by doing so promotes successful international interaction based on tolerance and respect.
The Centre for Intercultural Competence (ZIKK) is part of the Language Resource Centre (SPZ) of TU Darmstadt.

International and diverse teams have become an integral part of academic and professional life. Different perspectives, communication styles and experiences offer great potential, but may also create challenges. The guide “Intercultural Teamwork” supports students as well as supervisors of intercultural student groups in reflecting on and shaping collaboration in multilingual and diverse contexts.
The guide is available in both German and English and is particularly aimed at lecturers and supervisors working with intercultural student teams. For further development of intercultural competences, participation in ZIKK activities – especially intercultural simulation games – is highly recommended.
